Someone asked during our recent coverage for the Russian Ballet performance, that if we can actually get ‘photos’ from our video footages?
Technically, possible. But it won’t be ideal.
As videos are dependent on frame rates, which is how many frames is being shot in a second. So if you are shooting at 30 frames per second (FPS), then its 30 shots per second.
Theoratically, you may get a shot out of the 30, but you will also have to take into account that most fast action shots are done at much higher shutter speed, which is something the photography has an advantage over videography.
Have a look at the 2 photos, if you look close enough, there are motion blur (ie, the fingers are blurred due to the fast movement).
And if you hope to achive the same result as a photographer, then you will need a lot of light and a much higher shutter speed to ‘freeze’ the motion.
